Kinomichi emerges from Aïkido, a traditional Japanese martial art, envisioned and developed by Masamichi Noro Sensei. Movements it relies on favour the circulation of energy and a careful development of the body. Though techniques used are the same as in Aïkido, emphasis is put on spiral movements and contact in an ample use of the space and it integrates the approach of somatic practices such as Feldenkrais, Anti-Gymnastics or Qigong for improved flexibility and a strengthened energy. These concepts are applied through contact with a partner, in a spirit of cooperation and mutual benefit. One can see it as a form of dynamic meditation through fluid movements.
Unless you have been ordered to avoid physical exercise for medical purposes, there are no prerequisites to practice. Come as you are, at any age or condition, with clothes that allow ample movements, and a wish to learn.
Drop-in anytime, but make sure to check the calendar to ensure that a course is happening.
